The women’s golf team struggled on day one of Penn State’s Nittany Lion Invitational on Oct. 3, where the Bison took 14th place after posting an opening round score of 340. Emily Larson ’17 and Jen Lee ’16 both scored 84s to lead the Bison.

The Bison entered day two of the Invitational only one place behind the Nittany Lions. This round brought a better performance for the Orange and Blue, as they scored 321. Led by Larson’s 76, Callie Nelson ’17 chipped in with a second round 78. The Bison’s overall score improved, but they were not able to get out of last place.

The Orange and Blue took the momentum built on day two and continued to improve on day three. Larson again led the team, posting a 79. The squad recorded a third-round score of 329. Lee carded an 81, Nelson an 83, and Nicole Mischler ’17 shot an 86.

The Bison finished with 990. Larson filed great scores in the 70s and tied for 57th individually.

The Bison will be back in action on Oct. 13 and 14 in the Rocket Classic at the Catawba Island Club.
