Women’s Golf concluded another successful tournament in Annapolis, Md., at the Navy Invitational on Oct. 4-5. The Bison took second on the team leaderboard, and Paige Richter ’26 took third individually. Joelle Johnson ’29 and Nicole Yun ’27 followed suit by tying for fifth.
The Orange and Blue started strong on the first day as they sat only one stroke off from the lead at 18-over-par. Richter led the Bison by sitting in third. She scored 73 on the day with two birdies. Sophia Bardunias ’28 sat tied for eighth place with a four-over 76, and Yun earned a 78 (+6) after the first round. Johnson followed behind with a score of 79 (+7).
The second day of the event proved to be successful for the Orange and Blue as they held onto second place as a team with a team tally of 296. Richter finished third with a 73 score from each round to get a two-over par mark. She carded three birdies on the back nine on the final day to get back to one-over. Johnson came back on day two to score a one-under 71. After making four birdies, she jumped 19 spots to tie for fifth with Yun, who posted an even-par 72. She started four over par in the first six holes, but scored five birdies to come back to even.
The Bison will be back in action on Oct. 20 to take on the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club.
