Amar Tahirovic ’26 of Men’s Tennis has earned this week’s Bison of the Week honors. The senior put together a repeat performance at the Patriot League qualifier for the ITA Conference Masters Championship this weekend, sweeping the singles and doubles titles for the second consecutive year.
The reigning Patriot League Player of the Year fell in only one set throughout the entire singles session, and it was to teammate Adam Stavrakas ’26. Tahirovic is now 10-3 in singles matches this fall.
The top-seeded duo of Tahirovic and Brendan McDonald ’26 went 3-0 overall with a 24-12 game record across the doubles session. With the victory, the pair earned a bid to San Diego in two weeks to compete for a spot in the NCAA Championships.
“The main focus as I prepare for the NCAA qualifiers in San Diego is just staying healthy and doing the right training/recovery to keep my body in full go mode,” Tahirovic said. “The competition at this tournament is very strong so every step along the way will matter in order for me to perform my best. Also just going back through previous match film and analyzing some weaknesses I had and working on those leading up to the tournament.”
The ITA Conference Masters will be held from Nov. 6-9, serving as a qualifier for the NCAA Championships. The top four singles semifinalists and top three doubles teams will earn bids.
