The daughter of non-traditional student Carl Silverstein ’19, Margaret Silverstein, took her own life on April 5, 2018. Margaret is survived by seven siblings — Jessica, Elizabeth, Simeon, Samuel, Grace, David, and Rachel — and her parents, Carl and Terry Fox.

Margaret was described by her father as “a vibrant and intelligent young woman.” She loved scuba diving, and would often travel with her father to exotic locations such as Belize. She also had an interest in drama and theater, often acting and working behind the scenes on various productions with the drama club at Palmerton High School, from which she graduated in 2015.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Margaret’s memory are asked to make a donation to the American Foundation for the Prevention of Suicide.

A memorial service will be held on April 15 at 2:00 p.m. in Rooke Chapel. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. Rabbi Chana Leslie Glazer will officiate the service.
