Lohwater leads Bison at the Battle at Rum Pointe

Jason Lohwater ’22 had an excellent performance this past weekend as Bison men’s golf competed at the Battle at Rum Pointe. In the first round, Lohwater shot a 3-under-par to lead the Orange and Blue to a 296 total in the first round. Blake Wisdom ’23 shot a 74, Michael Rudnick ’25 shot a 75, Jackson Bussell ’23 shot a 78 and Jake Maddaloni ’25 shot a 79.
In Sunday’s second round, the Bison scored a 297, giving them a total of 593 for the weekend. Lohwater continued his strong performance on Sunday, shooting a 72. Lohwater shot a 3-under with a score of 141 overall, putting him in third place, tied with Rhode Island’s Jordan Brajcich.
Wisdom shot a 74 on Sunday, and finished tied for 17th with a 148 total on the weekend. Rudnick shot a 75 in the second round, and Bussell a 76.
Lohwater earned his second Patriot League Golfer of the week award this Spring for his strong effort this past weekend. Lohwater started off with three birdies to lead him to a 3-under-par in the first round, and continued on to shoot even-par in the second round. Lohwater’s performance was a big reason why the Bison finished third overall in the 21-team field at the Battle at Rum Pointe.
The Orange and Blue are set to compete again on April 10 and 11 at the Coca-Cola Invitational hosted by Lafayette.
The women’s golf squad competed at the Prospect Bay Intercollegiate in Maryland. In their first two rounds, the Bison scored 333 and 330. Kelsey Yi ’24 shot the best for the Orange and Blue with a 164 total on day one. Cristina Canales ’24 and Tara Thomas ’25 each shot a 167. Tatum McKelvey ’23 added a 168, and Sun Woo Jeon ’22 a 170.
On Sunday, the Bison finished with a team score of 334. Thomas and Yi recorded impressive scores on the second day, shooting 81 and 79 respectively. Canales and Woo Jeon both shot 84. Canales finished strong on the back end, with four birdies and a par to wrap up the round.
Next, the women’s golf team is headed to the Patriot League Championship hosted by Navy from April 15 through 17.
