The Bison women’s tennis team’s season came to an end on Friday as they fell 4-2 in the Patriot League quarterfinals against Loyola. It was a narrow loss for the fifth seeded Bison who finished their season with a record of 12-10 (3-3 PL).

Daniela Bellini ’22 capped off her excellent Bison career with another singles victory. This hard-fought 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 decision was her 50th career win, placing her 16th-all time in Bison history. Even more impressively, Bellini has competed at first singles for her entire collegiate career.

Bellini also teamed up with Whitney King ’25 for a 6-3 victory. The duo finished the season with a 22-5 record which is the tenth most doubles victories in a single season in Bison history. In the other doubles match, Tyne Miller ’24 and Laurel Utterback ’24 won 6-4 to secure the doubles point for the Bison.

In the other singles matches, the Bison fought hard, but lost in close fashion. Miller lost narrowly in the first set 6-4 of singles two. King was on the verge of winning on singles three by a score of 6-4, 4-6, and 4-2 before the match was left unfinished. Anna Lajos ’25 lost 7-6 (6), 2-6, 6-3 on singles four.

This was the last match of the season for the Bison and also witnessed an end to the college career of Bellini. The rest of the team will use this season as experience as they will look to have an even better season come next spring.
