Meghan Quinn ’24 cemented her legacy as one of the best Bucknell sprinters of all time this weekend, setting three school records at the Colonial Relays. The star junior shattered the 100-meter and 200-meter dash records, and was also a member of the 4×400-meter relay as part of her historic weekend.

Additionally, Quinn was a member of the 4×100 squad that took fifth place in the meet and ranks sixth all time in Bucknell history.

Despite having such an impressive weekend, Quinn said that she had honestly surprised herself as she had zero expectations going into the meet.

“I had just taken a week off of training over break, and the first meet of the year is usually just a time to shake off the rust,” Quinn said. “So I really was not expecting anything going into this meet, and I was honestly in shock when it all happened. I really think it just speaks to how well the training plan Coach Alexander and Coach Shirk have put together. I feel as explosive and powerful as I ever have, and being able to trust in my training fully has been amazing. Also, having teammates and alumni who push me and are so supportive has meant the world. I really think that all of my accomplishments are due to them, and I’m just really happy it’s all starting to come together.”

Quinn now holds four school records, further establishing herself as one of the Bucknell greats as only a junior. The level of consistency and success that Quinn has displayed is nearly unparalleled; a testament to her hard work and dedication.

“I know it sounds cliche but I really do believe that hard work pays off,” Quinn said. “I’ve had great coaches and teammates who have put so much time and effort into me, and it’s really made the sport so enjoyable for me. It’s easy to put in the work when you are in such a supportive environment, and I think that the work I’ve put in has shown on the track. I’m really proud of the work I’ve put in, and I’m truly grateful for all the team has given me. I just want to be the best captain and teammate I can be moving forward and continue to help put the team in the best position possible moving forward ahead of Patriot Leagues.”

Quinn looks to continue to lead the Orange and Blue to success this upcoming weekend at the Lehigh Games in Bethlehem, Pa.
