Jordan Hardy ’25, libero for the Bison Women’s Volleyball team is named this week’s Athlete of the Week. Hardy’s impressive performance in last week’s Liberty Tournament played a major role in the team’s 3-1 win over Gardner-Webb.
The junior made an impressive start to her season, dominating defensive proceedings, with 57 digs in her 10 sets played. Hardy totaled 28 digs on Saturday alone, setting a Liberty Arena record. Her record worthy performance puts her at first in the Patriot League and 11th in the nation for digs per set.
Hardy is grateful for the recognition. “This is good for the team because it allows the program and my teammates to be noticed,” she said.
The stand out junior was also named The Patriot League Preseason Libero of the Year a few weeks prior.
With a great start, Hardy seems optimistic about the rest of the season. “We [had] a tougher preseason than past seasons, but we have a lot of potential. These first few games will be challenging, but they will prepare us for league play.”
Hardy added that the team dynamic will play a key role in how the season turns out. She said, “I am looking forward to the team chemistry this season. By having a strong connection, it makes it easier to achieve our goals. As a team, we are mentally in it to make it to the tournament again this year. I am excited to see how far we can go!”
Hardy and the rest of the Bison Women’s Volleyball team will hit the court again in the Bucknell Invitational on Sept. 1 and 2.
