Cross Country runner Henry Didden ’26 has been named this week’s Bison of the Week after an impressive first-place finish at last weekend’s RMU Colonial Invitational.
Didden made sure to bring home the gold after competing against regional opponents. With a time of 24:19.4, Didden gained his first career cross country win and beat his previous PR time of 26:13.0 for the 8k. His victorious performance also set the pace for the Bison’s first meet win since 2022.
Satisfied with his performance, Didden said, “I was able to help my team win, which is what I am most proud of. I felt that I executed the race strategy that my coach and I talked about well, and I stuck to it.”
The last runner to win the Bison of the Week honor was Samuel Whittaker in September 2022.
“This season has been going very well so far and I am excited for the rest of the season. The whole team has been putting in a lot of miles and work. Hopefully, it will pay off at Patriot Leagues and NCAA Regionals,” said Didden.
Look out for Didden and the rest of the Bison Men’s Cross Country team on Sept. 30 at the Paul Short Run.
