After scoring two goals in the Bison’s 6-2 win over Lehigh which clinched their 17th straight Patriot League Tournament bid, Bison Field Hockey’s Lily Neilson ’25 earned both titles of Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and Bison of the Week. With her tenth career Offensive Player of the Week award, Neilson ties the Patriot League record.
The game against Lehigh marked Neilson’s fourth game in a row with two scores to her name. Neilson’s goals came off of her first successful career penalty stroke and a reverse shot in the circle towards the end of the game.
This game was a record-breaking one for Neilson. With her two goals, Neilson moved to sole possession of Bucknell’s record for most career goals with 57, and maintained her third-place all-time ranking in Patriot League history. Neilson also sits at 120 career points, only two points away from a tie for first in Bucknell history.
The 2024 season has been particularly strong for Neilson as she ranks tied for fourth in goals, (15) and tied for sixth in points (32). Neilson also nationally sits fourth in goals and fifth in goals per game, with an average of 1.07.
Neilson and the rest of Bison Field Hockey next compete Nov. 2 at 12 p.m. at home against American.
