Editor-in-Chief: Kelsey Werkheiser ’25
Kelsey, Editor-in-Chief of The Bucknellian, began writing for the paper in her first year and joined the staff in her sophomore year. She has held several positions, including Special Features Co-Editor, News Co-Editor and Print Managing Editor.
As she enters her final semester at Bucknell, Kelsey hopes to make the most of her role as Editor-in-Chief. She encourages others to join and write for The Bucknellian, emphasizing, “It’s so exciting to see your name in print each week and be able to share your work with your family and friends.”
Her involvement with The Bucknellian has had a lasting impact on her, as she noted, “The Bucknellian has not only been a welcoming community but has also inspired me to hopefully pursue a career in journalism after graduation.”
Print Managing Editor: Dora Kreitzer ’25
Dora began writing for the paper in Fall 2021. Over the years, she has held a variety of positions, including Assistant News Editor, Print Presentation Director, Digital Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief, before returning to her current role as Print Managing Editor.
Reflecting on her hopes for the semester, Dora shared, “This semester I hope that we continue to spotlight people, organizations, opinions and issues on campus that matter to the student body. I’m really excited about our editorial staff this semester and our capacity to create a really strong publication, so I’d love to see that come to fruition in a way that also feels meaningful to readers.” Dora shared that The Bucknellian has played a defining role in her Bucknell journey, introducing her to upperclassmen role models and providing her with one of her first leadership opportunities on campus.
Digital Managing Editor: Esther Zhao ’27
Since joining The Bucknellian in Fall 2023, Esther Zhao has taken on multiple roles, now serving as the Digital Managing Editor after previously working as Arts & Culture Co-Editor. This semester, she hopes to finish strong without burnout, experiment with her writing and connect more with those around her. She encourages others to join The Bucknellian, emphasizing the strong sense of community: “Sometimes writing can be lonely, so the collaboration and mentorship within The Bucknellian is really nice.” Her experience with the paper has solidified her passion for writing and editing, something she hopes to continue in the future.
News Editor: Lindsay Beier ’27
During her first semester at Bucknell, Lindsay joined the Bucknellian as a writer and then served as Assistant News Editor before beginning her current role as News Editor. For this semester, as she takes on the additional role of Assistant Print Managing Editor, Lindsay hopes to cover exciting news stories and expand the paper’s pool of contributors, always seeking new voices. She encourages others to join and write for The Bucknellian, as it’s a great way to stay connected and informed on campus while contributing to the overall campus environment and awareness. Her involvement with the paper has helped her “make some great friends” and become more attuned to what’s happening on campus.
Opinions Editor: Malika Ali ’26
Malika joined the Bucknellian as an Opinions writer during her first year, and she has spent the last three semesters as an Opinions Co-Editor. When asked about her goals for the semester, she replied, “I’m hoping to write and help publish more advocacy and activism pieces.” She added that she has absolutely loved the opportunity to share her voice and opinion, and she’d like to continue helping others share their own.
Assistant Opinions Editor: Shaheryar Asghar ’28
After consistently writing for the Opinions section last semester, Shaheryar is now the Assistant Opinions Editor. He shared, “The Bucknellian is my favorite activity on campus because I get to be a voice to the community on campus.” Shaheryar is looking forward to his very first semester on the Bucknellian’s editorial staff.
Special Features Editor: Hayley Leopold ’26
Since her first semester at Bucknell, Hayley has been an active contributor to The Bucknellian. Before stepping into her current role as Special Features Editor, she spent two semesters as a Satire Co-Editor and later served as the Print Presentation Director. This semester marks her second semester as Special Features Editor.
“My time with The Bucknellian has been incredibly rewarding,” she shared. “I look forward to late Wednesday nights at the Stuck House with my fellow editors, and I’ve loved the opportunity to write numerous articles and explore different aspects of the paper.” She emphasized that The Bucknellian offers a variety of ways for students to get involved, whether through writing, page layout, or photography. “There’s truly something for everyone,” she added.
Sports Editor: Charlotte Dursee ’25
Charlotte returns to her role editing for the sports section. She began writing for the Bucknellian during the fall of her first year, and has since worked her way up to Sports Editor position. Her goals include getting to know her writers and assistant editors, as well as recruiting new writers. She encourages students to start writing for Sports, sharing that it is a “great way to combine a passion for athletics and writing!”
Assistant Sports Editor: Courtney Keller ’28
Prior to her current role as Assistant Sports Editor, Courtney was a Sports Layout Editor. As a first-year, she hopes to see more writers get involved and experience how rewarding it is to be part of the newspaper. She believes The Bucknellian provides opportunities to write about a variety of topics while gaining the unique experience of having work published. Her involvement has helped her feel more connected to Bucknell, meet amazing people, and develop a deeper passion for the school’s athletic scene.
Assistant Sports Editor: Maddie Fowler ’28
This semester is Maddie’s first on The Bucknellian’s editorial staff, currently working as an Assistant Sports Editor. When asked why others should join and write for the Bucknellian, she shared, “It is a fun and creative outlet where you get to express your passion and enthusiasm for different subjects!” Maddie hopes to improve and maintain this excitement for the sports section this semester.
Arts & Culture Co-Editor: Aaron Chin ’25
A longtime contributor, Aaron is spending his eighth and final semester with the publication. He began as a writer, transitioned to Satire Co-Editor and is now one of the Arts & Culture Co-Editors. Aaron commented, “My involvement [with the Bucknellian] has made me a better writer, editor, and thinker!” He encourages others to write for the paper because in doing so, they will be “joining a great community of writers, editors, and peers that want to see them succeed!”
Arts & Culture Co-Editor: Tosin Adebayo ’25
Since joining The Bucknellian in September 2024, Tosin Adebayo has taken on the role of Arts & Culture Co-Editor. This semester, she hopes to encourage more students to contribute to the paper, emphasizing that The Bucknellian allows writers to explore any topic that interests them. Her involvement with the publication has strengthened her connection to campus life— so much so that she jokes it “fully converted [her] to Bucknellianism.”
Arts & Culture Assistant Editor: Abby Katz ’28
Starting as a contributing writer in Fall 2024, Abby now serves as the Arts & Culture Assistant Editor for The Bucknellian. This semester, she hopes to “continue writing and hopefully learn and explore new things relating to Arts and Culture.” She encourages others to join the paper, describing it as a great opportunity to write about topics they are passionate about without much pressure. Abby enjoys discussing pop culture, media and campus events, and she finds it incredibly rewarding to see her name in print at the end of each week.
Photography Editor: Lauren Medeiros ’26
Lauren began working for The Bucknellian in Fall 2022 during her freshman year and has served as the Photography Editor since Spring 2023. Now in her junior year, she hopes to continue producing great visual content to accompany the paper’s articles. Lauren encourages others to join The Bucknellian, describing it as a great place to showcase a passion for writing, photography and graphics. “It’s a safe place and lots of fun!” she shared.
Graphics Manager: Evelyn Pierce ’25
Since joining The Bucknellian in Spring 2023, Evelyn has led the paper’s graphic design efforts as Graphics Manager. In her final semester at Bucknell, she hopes to get more people interested in creating graphics so that someone can take over after she graduates. Evelyn describes The Bucknellian as a “silly group of people” and finds the process of everyone’s hard work coming together each week incredibly rewarding.
Communications Director: Sarah Bailey ’27
Sarah is eager to take on the role of Communications Director for The Bucknellian this semester. She aims to enhance the paper’s social media presence, engaging students, alumni and Bucknell’s faculty and staff to stay connected with the latest articles.
