
Olivia Hopper ’28 has been a driving force in the early success of the Bison’s Women’s Water Polo team. Hopper led the attack at the Bucknell Invitational, helping generate a 4-0 record for the weekend and earning her Bison of the Week title.
Hopper’s 14 goals over four games were crucial to the Bison’s perfect weekend. Against La Salle and Siena, she scored six goals in each game. Hopper also scored in the nail-biting 10-9 victory against Saint Francis and added another against Mercyhurst.
Hopper has made great offensive contributions, leading the team with 24 goals. She plays alongside her twin sister, Ashley Hopper ’28, who has scored 14 goals for the Bison.
Bucknell kicked off the weekend with a 15-9 victory against La Salle and a 19-7 success over Siena. In week one of this season at the Princeton Invitational, the Bison only beat these teams by one goal. Hopper started strong in both games, scoring three goals in the first quarter of each and setting the tone for both games. Hopper scored three more goals in the second quarter against Siena to bring the score to 14-4 at the half.
