Trevina Espresso Martini Flights
Last Thursday evening, Grace and I ventured into downtown Lewisburg to seek out something we had seen on social media… Trevina’s Espresso Martini Flight (disclaimer: Grace and Grace are both over the age of 21 and are legally allowed to consume alcohol… responsibly)! Located on Market Street, Trevina has been a Bucknell hit since it came to Lewisburg two and a half years ago, with its self-serve beer, cider and wine taps. Since its management changed last year, they have started some new specials, one of which is Thursday night Espresso Martini Flights.
This was Grace’s first time getting drinks from Trevina, though she’s visited before and tried different dishes like fried calamari, flatbread and steak! Grace has visited before as well, tasting different flavors of ciders and sour beers from the tap wall! Her favorite is the Original Sin Black Widow Cider, which the other Grace is dying to try. We’ve both heard mixed feelings about the new menu, however, we are a Coffee Corner, so you can let us know what you think!
What is an Espresso Martini?
Espresso Martinis are a classic cocktail consisting of espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur. While these fun beverages are one of Grace’s favorites, this was Grace’s first time trying them! There is some debate within the Espresso Martini community whether Kahlúa or other cream-based liqueurs are allowed in this beverage or if that is blasphemous.
What we got: We were able to choose three different flavors from an assortment of the following: classic, dark chocolate, cinnamon brown sugar, dirty chai, coconut, caramel and vanilla. Grace and Grace were both indifferent to the flavors, as they all sounded good, so we asked the bartender for recommendations as we figured they would know best. We were given the cinnamon brown sugar, caramel and vanilla, which they said were their most popular orders. And we could see why!
Our rating for the Espresso Martinis from Trevina would be a 4 out of 5. We enjoyed the Espresso Martini flight, but the price was a bit high, and we were not told which flavor was which, so we had to determine for ourselves (we are only about 80% confident we knew which was which).
Flavor: As this was Grace’s first time drinking an Espresso Martini, she was pleasantly surprised! Her favorite was the caramel one, while Grace’s favorite was the cinnamon brown sugar. All three were delicious, not too bitter and not too sweet!
Fun: Grace and Grace went for just the drinks, so we reserved the lounge area. Trevina is divided into two rooms: dining or lounge. The space is nicely decorated with aesthetic seating and plush pillows. The walls are lined with wine and beer taps, which is self-serve and worth an experience!
Fame: Since its opening, Trevina has been a widely visited spot in town. With trendy decor and fun tap cards, this location is popular with both Lewisburg locals and Bucknell students. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or a fun girls’ night out, Trevina is a cute spot to visit.
Funds: The martini flight came out to $28, which makes each drink a little more than $9. The chocolate mousse was $5 (which Grace demolished haha). While this may seem a bit expensive, that is what quality cocktails go for nowadays, kids!
