Due to Bucknell Student Government’s (BSG) executive elections last semester, there are several open positions in BSG for the classes of 2016 and 2017. Katie Chambers ’17, formerly the class Secretary/Treasurer, has taken on the position of VP of Operations. Taylor McCready ’17, a former class representative, is now the VP of Administration.

“[Class of 2016] seats are open because of BSG members studying abroad this semester,” Class of 2017 President Nina Nevarez said.

The Secretary/Treasurer position and four representative positions are up for election for the class of 2016.  The Secretary/Treasurer position as well as two representative positions are also up for election for the class of 2017.

“Alex Rosen served as Junior Class Vice President last semester, but was elected as BSG President during executive board elections at the end of last semester. Ben Miller, who served as Junior Class Secretary/Treasurer last semester, decided to vacate his position and assume Alex’s former role as Vice President for this semester, leaving the Secretary/Treasurer open in this coming election,” said Class of 2016 President Connor McLaughlin.

Elections for the positions will be held from Feb. 4-5 through the InNetwork. Students were eligible until Jan. 29 to sign up to run for either position or both, although they may only be selected for one.  A mandatory campaign guidelines meeting held on on Jan. 29 was required for all students planning on running for a position.

“I greatly look forward to seeing a competitive election and welcoming new members to the Junior Class Congress in the coming weeks,” said McLaughlin.
