Leading the Orange and Blue’s men’s golf team, Peter Scialabba ’15 shot a 1-over par 72 and Daniel Levin ’18 finished his second top-ten finish in two days. The Bison had a strong end to the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette at Silver Creek CC on April 5-6.

The Bison’s team score was their second-lowest of the season at 294. Their lowest of the season is 290, which they achieved in the fall at the Binghamton Invitational.

“We had a really good first round at the Met Intercollegiate on Saturday, April 4 and we had a great final round at Lafayette on Monday, April 6 shooting 294, which was the second lowest score of the day and the tournament,” Levin said.

“We all know that we can get better as individuals and as a team so hopefully, we can continue to see progress and ideally, we’ll all peak at Patriot Leagues and bring home a championship,” Levin said.

The team placed in sixth with a total score of 603. St. Peter’s came in first for the team title with a score of 591, and Lehigh came in second.

For the individual standings, Levin came in at a five-way tie for fifth place with two consecutive 73’s. Levin placed T-8th at the Met Intercollegiate and now has three top-ten finishes in the 2014-15 season. The T-5th is the best of his career.

Having his lowest round of the spring with a 72, Scialabba finished in the top 20 at T-18th. D.J. Magee ’17 scored well with a 73 in the second round. C.J. Zachary ’18 and Nick Geissler ’16 both ended with 76’s in the second round.

“We were a little upset after the first round at Lafayette. We all felt that we left a lot of shots on the course. It felt great to rebound with 294 in the second round, our lowest of the spring,” Scialabba said.

The Orange and Blue’s performance was the second lowest team round of the day, and the Bison jumped up five spots.

“We feel confident going into St. Francis this weekend, and are working hard leading up to Patriot Leagues in three weeks,” Scialabba said.

J.B. Thompson ’18 and Jack Gregor ’18 both played as individuals. Thompson hit an 83 and Gregor hit an 86 in the second round.

Prior to the Patriot League Championship, the Bison have one more tournament at the St. Francis Invitational, which will be held on April 13-14.
