Hitters to Add:

DJ LeMahieu, 2B, COL (Owned in 74.3%): Currently sitting with the second highest batting average in the MLB with .444, LeMahieu provides consistency at a shallow position. If you’re in a competitive league, he’s most likely on a team by now, but it’s worth a quick look to see if teams haven’t picked him up yet.

Nick Markakis, OF, ATL (Owned in 69.8%): Markakis has been hot as of late, tallying nine hits in his last 14 at-bats and scoring five runs in the Braves’ series against the Blue Jays. Though he has yet to hit the long ball, he should get close to 20 home runs by the end of the season.

Jake Lamb, 3B, ARI (Owned in 24.0%): The rookie’s on-base percentage is over .500, and he has been one of the bright spots for Arizona that is in the top-10 in runs scored. With four runs, nine RBIs, and one home run, Lamb is contributing well in several categories and should be owned in most leagues.

Desmond Jennings, OF, TB (Owned in 20.2%): Despite only garnering eight hits over the last fifteen days, Jennings does have five stolen bases over that span. If you can survive with the low batting average and high strikeout rate, Jennings may be of value for teams lacking speed on the basepaths.

Yonder Alonso, 1B, SD (Owned in 4.6%): Similarly to Lamb, Alonso has been doing well in many categories, and he should at least be on your bench if he doesn’t make it into your daily starting lineup.  His stat line includes 16 hits, six runs, seven RBIs, and eight walks as the Padres sit at 9-5.

Pitchers to Add:

Edinson Volquez, SP, KC (Owned in 61.6%): Volquez really has been underrated throughout his career, but has thrown 17 strikeouts to just three walks through three starts this season. Backed by a Kansas City offense that has scored the most runs thus far, Volquez shouldn’t have any problem picking up wins this season.

Joel Peralta, RP, LAD (Owned in 60.1%): The Dodgers’ closer situation was a little hairy entering the season, and despite a stiff neck, Peralta currently has three saves, one win, and no earned runs through 5.1 innings of work. There really isn’t much competition for him, so he is safe for now.

Alfredo Simon, SP, DET (Owned in 50.0%): Another prime example of an above average starting pitcher with a lot of run support, Simon is 3-0 and has thrown 12 strikeouts to just two walks. He might not have the glamorous recognition that Matt Harvey or Zack Greinke receive, but he gets the job done.

Anthony DeSclafani, SP/RP, MIA (Owned in 48.1%): For some reason, Miami is really good at heralding unheard of starting pitchers and turning them into quality starters. 25-year old DeSclafani could be the next one, who has allowed just nine hits and two earned runs through 21 innings, good for an ERA and WHIP well under one.

Chris Heston, SP/RP, SF (Owned in 29.5%): Heston has thrown three quality starts against three strong offenses, and although San Francisco has struggled early on, the run support will come. His early ERA is 0.87, his WHIP is 0.97, and he is worth an add at this stage of the fantasy season.
