In its fall season-opening tournament at the Kingsmill Resort, the women’s golf team showed signs of serious strength for the upcoming year by shooting the eighth best score in program history: a total of 936 after 54 holes. The strong performance at the William and Mary Invitational was led by Lindsay Dodovich ’18, who played her career-best in the first round of the tournament, marking a 70-2 shots under par. Dodovich’s performance was her first to land her a slot in the top 20.

Rounding out some of the scoring for the tournament were Emily Larson ’17, Jen Lee ’16, Katie Childers ’19, and Eunbbie Kim ’19. Larson shot a 79, consistent with her recent solid showings, and Lee, Childers, and Kim shot an 81, 82, and 86 respectively. UNC Wilmington took the team first place spot, followed closely by William and Mary, Eastern Kentucky, and High Point. The Bison finished the tournament in 12th place, and Dodovich finished at a tie for 18th place individually.

The Bison look to continue their momentum when they return home next weekend for the annual Bucknell Invitational, which will take place on Sept. 19-20.
