The Office of Admissions, much like other buildings on campus undergoing construction and reconstruction, is facing significant changes. In the past months, the Office of Admissions has lost four counselors due to routine developments.

Recently these vacancies have been filled, two of them by University alumni. Molly Mulderrig ’15 will be joining the staff as an Admissions Counselor, and Jenny Kim ’02 as Assistant Director of Admissions.

Though facing a shortage in staff, Dean of Admissions Robert Springall said that the Office of Admissions was successful in carrying on with its hectic workload.

“We’re fortunate to have a talented staff of admissions professionals who did a fantastic job over the summer, particularly considering we were short staffed. Thanks to their good work, there was no reduction in the number of on-campus visitation opportunities, and we are moving ahead with a complete set of major events and daily programs for prospective students this fall,” Springall said.

Springhall said that the addition of the new Admissions Counselors is likely to help ease the load brought upon by college application season.

“Our overall travel plan looks very similar to fall 2014, which helped us reach a record number of applications. With the addition of our new staff members, Admissions will be able to complete our full schedule of off-campus recruitment activity,” Springall said.
