The men’s swimming and diving team had a good weekend at its quad meet, defeating Lafayette 218-78 and American 234-53. Despite a 188-104 loss to Navy, the team placed third in the 200-yard medley relay and first and third in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Individually, the Bison also performed very well. Louis Behnen ’17 placed first in both the 1000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. Following Behnen in the 500 free were teammates Denver Freeman ’17, Sam Rutan ’18, and Brian Phillips ’16, finishing second through fourth, respectively. Chris Devlin ’18 placed first in the 100-yard individual medley and second in the 200-yard backstroke, followed by teammate Will Rappaport ’16 in third.

The Orange and Blue also took a victory in the 200-free relay with a team made up of Charlie McFarland ’19, Jack Robinson ’17, JT Nangle ’16, and Steve Grune ’16.

Overall, the team was quite pleased by the performances.

“I thought that our team did extremely well overall. Spirit was up, and in-season times were noteworthy,” Assistant Coach Sandy Elion said.

The Orange and Blue improved to 2-3 for the season. Up next for the Bison is the Bucknell Invitational, hosted on Nov. 20-22 at Kinney Natatorium.
