The Bison men’s cross country team finished in eighth place on Sept. 23 at the Virginia/Panorama Farms Invitational. Posting a score of 218, the team beat American, Loyola, Appalachian State, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, and Hofstra. Brigham Young University (BYU) brought home the win posting a score of 39, beating No. 1 Syracuse who came in second with a 44.

Luke Giugliano ’17 carried the team as he finished 27th out of 113 runners. Ben Siciliano ’20 finished 43rd and was the only other Bison to finish in the top 50. The Bison’s other top finishers were Drew Dorflinger ’20 in 57th, Jacob Stupak ’20 in 58th, Zach Williams ’18 in 63rd, Ross Pirnie ’17 in 65th, and Will Bordash ’18 in 69th.

The women’s cross country team placed even better at the Virginia/Panorama Invite, finishing in 7th place with 187 points. The Bison came ahead of Clemson, Charlotte, Appalachian State, American, Loyola, and Hofstra.

Kate Scott ’17, Bison top finisher in her past two races, was absent from the Sept. 23 lineup. However, credit cannot be taken away from Christine Bendzinski ’18 who finished in 16th place out of 126 runners with a time of 17:40. Sarah Chandler ’17 also helped the team with her time of 17:55, finishing in 25th place.
