Advertising & Business Managers
Advertising Manager:
Responsibilities:
- Pitch ads to local, national, and university businesses and organizations
- Respond to emails in a timely manner to generate new business and build strong relationships
- Respond to client questions, clarify Bucknellian offerings, and ensure sales materials remain current
- Attend bi-weekly meetings with advisor and business manager
- Create ads for clients as requested
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of Photoshop
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to commit a minimum of 5 hours per week, with an understanding that this may fluctuate from week to week
- A schedule permitting fast response time to business inquiries

Business Manager:
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the advertising managers to maintain existing revenue streams and seek out new opportunities for revenue growth (long-term)
- Send out invoices to our clients (bi weekly)
- Deposit checks for subscriptions & advertisements to finance
- Fulfill subscription orders using the TouchNet online application and work with the subscription team to ensure our customers are receiving their papers
- Respond to customer issues
- Make necessary reimbursements to Bucknellian staff
- Bi-weekly meetings with ad managers
The time commitment varies: the beginning of the semester can be incredibly busy with new subscriptions coming in daily, but it tends to slow down as the semester continues. It is a very manageable and rewarding position. Organization skills, communication skills and a proactive attitude are most important for the job.
