The Bucknellian

Caroline Fassett
English and Political Science ’18 Harding, NJ Although she began her journey with The Bucknellian as a writer for a section in the paper that no longer exists (RIP Campus Life), Caroline has had a very long and fruitful relationship with the publication. Indeed, any small vexation or frustration she has experienced as a staff member of The Bucknellian has probably stemmed directly from her own shortcomings, like her inability to (1) construct even semi-decent headlines and (2) accept that the suggested ‘word count’ of a story is usually not at all a suggestion, even for articles that she thinks read so much better if they’re eight, maybe nine hundred words past the word limit. She truly missed flaunting these shortcomings at each production night, especially because she spent her last semester studying abroad in Bath, England, where she established a kinship with many Brits who also enjoyed finding reasons to smile through the pain of their collapsing country. Now back home in the states, Caroline spent her summer interning in the Books Department of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and beginning work on her honors thesis, which has a foundation in literary classics. Can you guess from this paragraph that she majors in both English and Political Science?
