Domestic: 

Tiger Woods lost control of his car on Tuesday morning, causing the vehicle to roll roughly 30 yards off of the side of the road. The legendary golfer was rushed to the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, but emergency surgery was conducted on his lower right leg. Questions surrounding whether he will be able to compete again remain unanswered. 

 

After the brutal snow storm that swept across the southern United States, millions of people in the state of Texas were left without power for days. Most Texans have had their power returned to them, but now the question remains: how did this happen? The outage has caused multiple board directors of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas to resign from their positions. 

 

International: 

Mahamane Ousmane, Niger opposition leader, claimed on Wednesday that the Niger presidential election had massive instances of voter fraud and proceeded to declare his own victory. Since then, there have been violent demonstrations all over Niger territory. 

 

Emma Coronel Aispuro, the wife of infamous drug kingpin “El Chapo”, was arrested in Dulles International Airport on Monday. She is being charged with “conspiracy to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin, five kilograms or more of cocaine, 1,000 kilograms or more of marijuana, and 500 grams or more of methamphetamines for unlawful importation into the U.S.” according to the Justice Department.
