Evie Bliss ’27 repeats as the Patriot League Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Bison of the Week after a spectacular performance in the javelin throw at the Bison Outdoor Classic. The US National Champion surpassed the 60-meter and 200-feet mark, setting the facility, meet and school record. Bliss moved into first worldwide in 2026 for the event, reaffirmed her number one spot in the NCAA and became seventh all-time in American history.
Bliss’ throw flew 61.34m (201-3), exceeding her previous best of 60.81m (199-6). The throw broke records despite the weather, particularly the wind, not being ideal. The crowd cheered and Bliss’s teammates celebrated as the over 60-meter throw was announced.
The Bison will compete at the ECAC-IC4A Championships this weekend. Bliss will likely compete next at the Penn Relays the following weekend.
