The Bison men’s tennis team went head-to-head against Temple University twice this weekend, falling to them in Philadelphia on Saturday, as well as in Hershey on Sunday.

The Bison suffered a 7-0 loss in their first match-up against the Owls with Nick Mueller ’23 playing on court 4 and Cooper Bradshaw ’22 on court 3, coming the closest to winning their respective matches. Mueller fell 6-2, 7-6 (7-0), and Bradshaw fell 7-5, 6-3.

On Sunday, the men showed improvement, with Mueller managing to win his singles match 6-4, 6-2 on court 3. The final score for the team was 6-1.

“We put up a much better effort against Temple the second day; putting up better energy and really taking it to what will be the best opponent we face all season. We can definitely take the positives from this for conference play next week, and although our record has taken a hit, we know what we can do from here on out,” Mueller said.

The Bison travel to Hamilton, N.Y. on Saturday, April 3 to face Colgate University, their first conference opponent since March 2019. The Bison will also travel to Flushing, N.Y. on Sunday to face Fordham University. Both matches will take place at 2 p.m.
