The Bison women’s golf team finished the Bucknell Invitational on a rainy Sunday afternoon with a bang as Casey Morrow ’21 took first place with a comfortable six-stroke lead. The entire roster was in action this week being split evenly into two teams properly named ”blue” and “orange.” The orange team ran away with a total of 615 (308-307) over blue’s 620 (308-312).

The individual leaderboard was almost entirely “blue” and “orange” as the Bison covered nine out of the top 10 places, with Saint Francis’ Allison Appleton tied for seventh. Morrow tied the school record with an astonishing 69 on Saturday and finished with an equally as amazing 74 on Sunday. Morrow’s Saturday peaked with five birdies in the second round and continued on Sunday with 14 pars.

Notable performances on “blue” also included Cristina Canales ’24 with 77, Kelsey Yi ’24 with 80, Morgan Hennessy ’22 with 81 and  Morgan Sohosky ’23 with 88. The “orange” team was led by Tatum McKelvey ’23, who finished runner-up to Morrow with 75, Erin Holmes ’21 with 77, Sun Woo Jeon ’22 also with 77, Kayla Yi ’24 with 78 and Sahana Paravantavida ’23 finishing with 79.

As the Bison finished up with their fifth team victory at its annual home event (other victories coming in 2006, 2010, 2011, and 2016) they look forward to dominating the Patriot League Championship in two weeks on April 24 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa.
