The Bison men’s golf team traveled to Hamilton, N.Y. this past weekend for the annual Alex Lagowitz Memorial Tournament hosted by Colgate. There were 12 teams that attended including Yale, Seton Hall, Rhode Island, Colgate, St. Bonaventure, Cornell, Villanova, Lehigh, St, John’s, Lafayette, Rider, and Holy Cross, and our own Bison. The team was in fifth after the first day of the tournament but struggled on the second day, finishing in 10th place overall.

Jason Lohwater ’22 posted a 3-under-par 69 after his first round, only two shots off the lead. After rounds two and three, posting a 2-over-par 74 and a 4-over-par 76, he finished in a tie for 13th place, the best individual finish on the team.

Jackson Bussell ’23, the team’s second best after the weekend, finished in a tie for 22nd, with consistent scores of 74, 74, 74 for a 222 to wrap up the weekend. Jack Gardener ’23 finished in a tie for 27th, the third best individually, with scores of 73-73-77 for a 223 total.   Michael Rudnick ’25, one of the 3 first-years, finished with a 77-77-75 229 total for the weekend with his first ever appearance for the Bison. Blake Wisdom ’23 rounded off the weekend with a 5-over-par 77 to total 233 for the tournament. “It was good for us to get out and play again and we have a pretty new team. We didn’t all play how we wanted to but it was a good start to get our season rolling,” Wisdom said. Jake Maddaloni ’25, similar to Rudnick, had his first appearance for the Bison as well, shooting 78,77,80 for a total of 235.

The Bison will travel to The Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn. this weekend to play in the Yale-hosted tournament.
