This past weekend on Saturday, Sept. 3, the Bison men’s soccer team fell to the Saint Peter’s Peacocks with a close score of 2-1. The game was highly competitive and head-to-head until the very end of double overtime.

The Orange and Blue were able to convert early on, when midfielder Brennan Gac ’24 drove the ball to Jordan Miller ’24, who was able to stay composed and finish past the keeper. This marks Miller’s first collegiate goal with the Bison.

After scoring off a penalty kick in the second-half, the Peacocks were able to score again in the run of play, securing a close 2-1 victory in double overtime.

Goalkeeper Bennett Schwartz ’23 had four big saves, keeping the Orange and Blue in the game through double-overtime. Centerback, Colin Eifert ’22 contributed to the Bison’s offensive power with a number of strong throw-ins.

The Orange and Blue had a number of chances throughout the game to try and secure the victory, including shots from Gabe Dahlin ’25 and Patrick O’Hara ’22.

Despite a recent tough string of losses, the Bison are optimistic and feel that these tough road games are certainly going to help them prepare for conference play.

“We’ve had to deal with a lot of changes throughout preseason and for the first few games, and we’re looking forward to finding our stride as a team and putting the last pieces in place. Going into league play we’re treating every game as a final and we are ready to surprise the rest of the conference,” team captain O’Hara said.

The Bison are excited to be back on the road again this Friday Sept. 10 to take on Mount St. Mary’s at 7 p.m.
