Meet the Editors

Editor-in-Chief: Griffin Perrault ’22

Griffin joined the Bucknellian his freshman year as a writer for the opinions section, eventually becoming an opinions editor. He then spent three semesters acting as a Print Managing Editor for the paper. Griffin contributed to the Bucknellian this past semester as editor in chief. 

 

Print Managing Co-Editor: Jacob Feuerstein ’22

Jacob joined the paper in his first semester at the University and wrote several articles, one of which successfully pressured the school administration to rename a room dedicated to Les Moonves, who was accused of sexual misconduct in his role as Chief Executive of CBS. Jacob then spent four semesters as opinions co-editor. This past semester he contributed to the paper as one of the print managing co-editors. On-campus, Jacob is also involved in OEL and Speak Up. 

 

Print Managing Co-Editor: Nick DeMarchis ’22

Nick has previously written for News and Satire, in addition to his frequent contributions as Opinions Co-Editor. Nick hopes to continue in his role helping writers hone their voice, as well as guiding the vision for the University’s editorially independent student publication. Other than the Bucknellian, Nick is also involved in the student calling program. 

 

News Co-Editor: Jax White ’23

Starting as an Opinions Writer during his freshman year, Jax moved on to become the Opinions Section Editor during his first semester of sophomore year. Jax spent his second semester as the News Section Co-Editor. On-campus, Jax is also a Captain for the Varsity men’s Track and Field Team, a Residential Advisor for Bucknell West, and a Student-Leader at the TechDesk.

 

News Co-Editor: Juliette Gaggini ’24

Juliette is a Sophomore at the University, and it is her second year writing for The Bucknellian. She is a coxswain on the Women’s Rowing Team and is a French TA this Fall semester. This is her second semester as News Co-Editor. 

 

Opinions Co-Editor: Sal Lovino ’24

Sal is a sophomore Economics major at the University minoring in Spanish and Literary Studies and in his second year of writing for the Bucknellian as Opinions section Co-Editor.  He has enjoyed the past two years extensively writing in the opinions section and hopes to grow the section in the year to come. 

 

Opinions Co-Editor: Haley Beardsley ’24

Haley joined the Bucknellian her first semester at the University, writing for news. She then became more involved in the club during this past semester as opinions co-editor. On-campus she is involved in rowing, speak up and the humanities residential college 

 

Satire Co-Editor: Liz Whitmer ’23

Liz is a Political Science major and Philosophy minor from Selinsgrove, and has been with the Bucknellian since the first semester of her freshman year. Along with asking people if they think her satire articles are funny, Liz is also the Director of Inclusion for Alpha Delta Pi, Vice President of College Democrats, Social Media Coordinator for Her Campus, a mentor for first-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. 

 

Satire Co-Editor: Bridgette Simpson ’23

Bridgette has written Satire for The Bucknellian since freshman year and has been a co-editor since her first semester sophomore year. She also writes for HerCampus and is a member of Chi Omega.

 

Special Feature Editor: Bel Carden ’22

Bel is a senior finance major and creative writing minor. On-campus she is involved in Greek life, Hercampus, the writing center and of course the Bucknellian! She started writing for the Bucknellian her first semester on campus in the news and special features sections. Bel acted as special features editor this past semester. 

 

Sports Editor: Justin Schaumberger ’22

Justin joined the Bucknellian as a sports section writer during Fall 2018. Justin spent the last semester working as the Co-Editor for the sports section with Holly Burns. The Bucknellian has been a great way to combine his interest in writing and sports.  

 

Sports Editor: Holly Burns ’22

Holly joined the Bucknellian during Fall 2019 as a writer for the sports section, focusing on several different sports as well as the Athlete of the Week feature. She co-edited the sports section with Justin Schaumberger. Being a member of the Varsity women’s soccer team, she is passionate about everything related to sports!

 

Print Presentation Co-Director: Nicole Yeager ’22

Nicole first joined the Bucknellian during her sophomore year as News Writer and Special Features Writer. Since then, she has served as News Editor and Special Features Editor and is now working as News Layout Editor for her last year. The Bucknellian has been an important part of her life at the University, and she is grateful for having had the opportunity to provide relevant content to the community while getting to know all the amazing members of the team as well as the opportunity to get more involved with campus events and activities through a journalistic lens. On-campus, she is also the founder and president of the Creative Writing Club as well as the Editor-in-Chief of Confetti Head Literary Magazine, a peer writing consultant at the Writing Center and the VP of Communications for Delta Gamma.

 

Print Presentation Co-Director: Liz Lagerback ’22

Liz has written news and satire for the Bucknellian, as well as layout editing for nearly every section. She currently does sports layout editing and is PPD. Outside of Bucknellian, Liz writes for HerCampus and is in the Philosophy Club! 

 

Special Features Layout Editor: Kelly Moxhay ’23

Kelly has been a Special Features Layout Editor for the Bucknellian since her freshman year. She is also a member of the ALD Honor Society and Delta Gamma. In addition to that, she has been working at the LGBTQ Resources Office since her freshman year. She’s looking forward to taking more studio art classes and having more in-person events.

 

Photography Co-Editor: Riley DeBaecke ’23

Riley joined The Bucknellian in her first semester at the University as a photographer, and has since served as photography co-editor and assistant photography co-editor. This school year, Riley also served as the publishing intern for the University Press and is involved in several sustainability initiatives on campus. 

 

Photography Co-Editor: Maddie Hamilton ’23

Maddie is a junior from right outside Boston who enjoys taking her camera with her everywhere she goes. In addition to being the photography editor, she also is a tour guide for University admissions and a pre-med student. In the past few years, Maddie has been a contributing photographer for the Bucknellian and has been the Photography Editor in the last two semesters.
