President John Bravman announced in a campus-wide email on Monday, Jan. 24 that Daisy Auger-Domínguez ‘95 was selected to be the keynote speaker at the 2022 Commencement ceremony. Ceremonies will take place in-person on May 22.

Auger-Domínguez, chief people officer at Vice Media Group, is renowned for her storied career in creating and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion strategies for some of the largest companies in the world.
She graduated from the University with a bachelor of arts degree in international relations and women’s & gender studies in 1995.

“I’m deeply honored to be asked to deliver this year’s Commencement address at my alma mater,” Auger-Domínguez noted in the University press release. “The first thing I did was tell my father, who is still beaming with pride from when he saw me receive my diploma. It feels like it was only yesterday when I was sitting in those folding chairs contemplating what the future held for me and my small cohort of largely BIPOC [Black, Indigenous and people of color] friends who had built such deep bonds. I promise to make it short, candid and impassioned.”
Her anticipated book, Inclusion Revolution: The Essential Guide to Dismantling Racial Inequity in the Workplace, is said to explore common reasons how diversity, equity and inclusion strategies fail in workplaces. It is set to release in March.

“We are honored to welcome Ms. Auger-Domínguez back to Bucknell, where she majored in international relations and women’s & gender studies,” said Bravman in a January 24 email. “As an innovative executive, champion of diversity and dedicated community volunteer, she exemplifies the power of Bucknellians to make an impact on the world.”
The press release provides more information on her work history and current other positions she holds on various nonprofit boards.
“I’m very excited that she will be giving the commencement speech this year,” said Abby Whitaker ‘22. “She’s a Bucknell graduate who has accomplished many great feats. I think that it will hit home for a lot of students to see an alumni speak, knowing they can accomplish great things too.”
