The Bison men’s golf team finished second at the Bucknell Veterans Intercollegiate this past weekend. Among the eight teams competing, the Bison finished at 883 which only trailed Siena College (857). This was the Orange and Blue’s first competition of the spring season.

The Bison finished first on the first day of the competition shooting an impressive 292. Jackson Bussell ’23 led the way shooting 3-under-par including a birdie on a par 5. Jack Gardner ’23 (73) and Jason Lohwater ’22 (76) also had good opening days.

The Bison followed up their opening round with another great day. The team shot a 294 which was good for second on the day. This was especially impressive given that No. 1 player Bussell was unable to finish the round due to injury. Blake Wisdom ’23 picked the team up shooting a 1-under-par 71. Lohwater (74), Gardner (74) and Rudnick (75) each had four birdies on the day.

The final day was also a good outing for the Bison who shot a 297 and tied for second on the day. The Bison were led by Wisdom, who shot under par again (71). Michael Rudnick ’25 shot a 75, Lohwater shot a 76, and Gardner shot a 78. At the end of the day, the Bison finished in second place, only trailing a very impressive performance by Siena.

The Bison will be back in action Feb. 20-22 at the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley GC in Goodyear, Ariz.
