The Bison men’s golf team traveled to Goodyear, Ariz. last weekend to compete in the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Club. Finishing with a team score of 1-under 863 after three rounds, the men took eighth place in an extremely competitive field. The Bison were competing against 17 other teams, seven of which had subpar team scores. Jake Maddaloni ’25 and Jason Lohwater ’22 led the team to a subpar finish after Maddaloni had a final round of 69 and Lohwater finished with an overall score of 4-under 212.

Lohwater led the Bison and finished in a tie for 10th overall out of the 110 players in the field. Alongside him was Maddaloni who made five birdies which helped lead him to his final score of 3-under-par 69, a career-best for the first year. He finished 1-over for the tournament. Blake Wisdom ’23 came in third for the Bison with a 3-over 219 after shooting a solid final round of 2-under 70. Michael Rudnick ’25, another first-year, finished with a 6-over 222 and rounded out the weekend with an even 72. Jack Gardner ’23 finished 8-over on the tournament with a great first round shooting a 4-under-par 68.

The Bison have until March 26-27 to prepare for their next tournament in Berlin, Md. at Rum Pointe Golf Club hosted by Iona College. They will be headed to Berlin with hopes to defend their title as reigning champions.
