The Bison men’s lacrosse team secured a huge 14-6 Patriot League victory against the Colgate Raiders this past weekend. First-year goalie Rich O’Halloran ’25 earned Patriot League weekly honors and Bison of the Week honors for this 14-save performance that was pivotal to the Orange and Blue win.

The Bison came out strong offensively, and were able to secure an 8-2 advantage in the first half alone. The Orange and Blue were able to go on a five goal unanswered run across the first and second quarters. Dutch Furlong ’24 and team-leading scorer Connor Davis ’25 each recorded three points on the night. Davis already has 35 goals this season, and is only three goals away from the Bison’s single-season top 10.

Beyond Davis and Furlong, Harry Wellford ’22 added two goals and an assist, Jack Feda ’23 netted two goals and Nick Crovatto ’22 tallied one goal and one assist. Crovatto also went 12-for-23 in the face-offs and collected nine ground balls.

“As a team we were excited to avenge our one goal loss from last year by beating Colgate on our home turf. We have been able to stay undefeated at home so far this year and look forward to battling nationally ranked Army on Saturday at Christy,” Feda said.

In addition to a strong offense, the Orange and Blue defense also posted a strong performance. This game marked the first time the Bison held Colgate to six or less goals since 2011, in the Patriot League Championship game.

Captain Travis Talarico ’22 led the defense with two caused turnovers and four ground balls. Frankie Higgins ’22 also posted a strong performance with three caused turnovers and two ground balls. Danny Striano ’23 recorded seven ground balls.

The Bison now stand at 7-2 on the season, and 1-2 in Patriot League play. Men’s lacrosse hopes to improve upon their Patriot League record this weekend with a home game against No. 16 Army West Point at 1 p.m. at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
