This weekend, the Bison women’s lacrosse team traveled west to take on the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks. In the wake of a two game winning streak, the Bison fell to their opponent on Saturday with a score of 16-11. Five players scored two goals each from the Bison: Emma Cashwell ’22, Tatumn Kohlbrenner ’24, Phoebe Macleod ’24, Laurel McHale ’22 and Taylor Kopan ’24.

The first half started off well with the Orange and the Blue leading after the first quarter by two goals. The second quarter saw two more goals from the Mountain Hawks, tying the game at 5-5. The Bison responded quickly with a three goal combo, giving the team an 8-5 lead with the half almost done. Lehigh did not fall behind, however, scoring two more goals in the back of the net and finishing the half at a score of 8-7.

Lehigh picked it up in the second half, scoring four goals in the third quarter, and following with three more in the fourth. The Bison scored three more goals as well, but could not catch the Mountain Hawks as they pulled ahead.

Ella Payer ’23 put up a career high draw controls, as the Bison beat out the Mountain Hawks 22-9. Caitlin McHale ’23 and Cashwell also had six draw controls each.

Macleod spoke on the game. “We came out really strong against Lehigh but slipped up in the 3rd quarter. We have made big changes this season across the board so I am really excited to see how we match up against a strong Army team this weekend!” Macleod said.

The Bison women’s lacrosse team will play again Saturday April 9, taking a week off before taking on the Army Black Knights.
