Bison men’s golf finish strong

In one final tune-up before the Patriot League Championship, the Bison men’s golf team traveled to Villanova, Pa. to compete in the Wildcat Invitational. The Orange and Blue finished fifth overall with a team score of +27, only five shots behind second-placing Long Island University.

The first day was tough for all competitors, with undesirable weather playing a significant factor in performance. Yet despite this, five Bison players still shot 74 or better. Jackson Bussell ’23 shot a team-best 2-over-par 72. Blake Wisdom ’23 and Jason Lohwater ’22 both shot 73s while Jack Gardner ’23 and Michael Rudnick ’25 – who was playing as an individual – shot 74s. Collectively, the Bison scored a team total of 292 on the day, sufficient to earn fourth place going into the last day of the competition.

Indeed, the Orange and Blue carried their excellent play into the second day of the competition as well. Wisdom shot a 2-over-par 72 which earned him a top-10 finish – his third in five starts this spring. Lowater (74), Gardner (75), and Bussell (79) all shot well for the Bison. John Bradbeer ’25 improved as the competition went on, finishing with a 74 on the second day. Collectively the Bison shot 295 on the second day, allowing them to finish +27 overall. This score earned the team fifth place.
