The Bison men’s lacrosse team secured a decisive 23-7 Patriot League win over Holy Cross this past Saturday, keeping them alive as tournament play gets ever closer.

Alston Tarry ’22 led the Bison offense with a 12-point record performance, tallying six goals and six assists on the day. Pete von Hoffmann (1979 vs. Penn State), Matt Fraser (1980 vs. Lafayette), Chris Cara (2004 vs. Lafayette), Billy Eisenreich (2012 vs. Robert Morris) and Will Yorke (2020 vs. Marist) were all previously tied with 11 points for the Bison’s single-game point record. Tarry now has 133 total goals, only 10 goals away from making the Bison’s top-10 list for career goals.

While Tarry certainly led the offense, there were several other Bison behind him adding multi-goal performances to secure the win. Dutch Furlong ’24 added four goals and one assist, Connor Davis ’25 tallied three goals and one assist, Harry Wellford ’22 netted four goals and Jack Billitier ’23 three of his own. Davis now has 38 goals on the season, putting him in eighth place for season-high goals by a Bison. Furlong is not far off the list himself, with 32 total goals this season alone.

Nick Crovatto ’22 was strong in faceoffs, winning 19 on the day and adding six ground balls. Crovatto hit his 300th career faceoff win, joining three others to become the fourth Bison to reach this milestone. Danny Striano ’23 and Frankie Higgins ’22 helped out Crovatto, recording seven ground balls each.

The Orange and Blue dominated the Crusaders in all facets, with a 65-29 advantage in shorts, 43-15 advantage in SOG, 49-27 advantage in ground balls and 23-11 advantage in faceoff wins.

The Bison now sit in sixth place in Patriot League standings, hoping to secure a few more wins to send them to the conference quarterfinals. The Orange and Blue are back in action against Lafayette for their Senior Day game this coming Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m.
