The men’s soccer team traveled to New York to compete in Marra Athletic Fields against St. Bonaventure University on Friday.

The Bonnies managed to keep a two goal lead, despite continuous pressure from the Bison. The Orange and Blue outshot the Bonnies 14-9 and controlled possession 65 percent of the game, but were unsuccessful in the quest to find the back of the net.

Despite this, the Bison continued to win battles on the field and attempt to even the score. Marco Valentic ’26 stood out in particular, leading the team with four shots on the day. Notably, Valentic had a good look from the top of the box that was ultimately cut off by a defender in the first half. Charlie Holmes ’26 also had some quality chances, including an 83rd minute shot that screamed just wide of the net.

Bison defender Matt Owusu ’24 spoke of the game, calling it an “unlucky result but an overall great performance from the team.” Owusu considers this to be “the turning point of our season.”

On Sunday, the Bison earned their first win of the season against Saint Peter’s University. The two goals were scored by All-Patriot League player, Jordan Miller ’24 and Mo Tall ’23. Both goals were scored in the last ten minutes of the game. The moment was especially special for Tall because it was his first career goal, as he missed the entirety of his junior season with an injury.

The Orange and Blue have hopes for further victories as they play Mount Saint Mary’s and Saint Francis this weekend. The games will be held on the Bison’s very own Emmitt Field.
