A weekend of SWEEPS for Bison Volleyball

Bucknell Women’s Volleyball proved superior in their first weekend of Patriot League play while hosting Lehigh and Lafayette in Davis Gym.

The bison drove a three-set sweep against Lehigh University (25-16, 26-24, 25-16) with Sarina Singer ’23 leading the team with 14 kills while hitting a stellar .545 hitting average and Bri Frazilus ’26 placing 11 kills for the team.

Overall, Bucknell hit a season-best of .282 in the match and out killed Lehigh 44-27. Following a sturdy match against Lehigh, the Bison continued league play against Lafayette on Sunday. In the team’s second sweep of the weekend (25-20, 25-20, 25-18) Bucknell posted a .293 hitting average with Bucknell allowing Lafayette a .079. 

“This weekend the team came in with a super competitive, ‘win at all costs’ mentality, which really helped us secure those wins,” Frazzles said. “There wasn’t just one person who was scoring points, everyone was working hard to make the next person’s job easier and it all came together.”

Bucknell saw huge runs amongst the matches, leaving the leopards in their place. Throughout the match, Jordan Hardy ’25 accounted for 21 of the team’s 52 digs, Catherine Jamison ’24 provided the team with 10 kills and Allie Lopez ’24 put down eight kills and two block assists for a .636 hitting percentage.

The Leopards certainly couldn’t find a path to outrun the Bison.
