The men’s and women’s cross country teams both competed at home in a final tune up on Friday, looking ahead to the Patriot League Tournament this coming weekend.

With twelve runners on each course, Grant Kern ‘26 earned second place for the men’s team on the 6k course with a time of 20:00. Trent Dinant ‘26 earned second place on the 4k course at 12:39.40. Quinn McCutheon ‘25 and Peter Clifford ‘26 follow Kern with sixth and seventh place finishes, respectively. Zachary Laird ‘23 followed Dinant on the 4k closely with a 12:39:80 time, landing him third place. Mason Siebenhaar ‘26 finished fifth on this course.

For the women’s team, nine Bison runners competed in a pool of twenty total. Grace Vives ‘26 led the herd with a second place finish at 14:59.80. Meredith Haberfield ‘23 (15:23.90) and Eva Lindner ‘24 (15:44.10) finished in fourth and seventh place, respectively.

“Coming into the season as an entirely different team with a whole new team dynamic, nobody was really sure of what kind of results we could put up,” Abby Paczewski ‘24 said. “We have been working for this moment since June, and I know based on our training that we have a solid group of ladies who are fully capable and are ready to run fast this weekend. Given the outcomes of workouts and previous meets, I have a feeling we are going to place high at the championship meet.”

Bucknell will compete in the Patriot League Championship this Saturday, with races beginning at 10 a.m. This will be their first time hosting since 2018, where they won the league title.
