This past weekend, Women’s Golf traveled to Panama City, FL to embrace the sunshine on an action packed course at Lipscomb University in a 15-team competition.

Paige Ritcher ’26 carded a team best 79 to lead Bucknell on day one of the Lady Bison Bay Point Classic.

Tatum McKelvey ’23 followed with an 88, Kelsey Yi ’24 and Kayla Yi ’24 both shot 90 and Tara Thomas ’25 posted a 91.

The Bison improved by 18 shots over its first-round score on day two, and was one of only five schools in the 15-team field to improve on its first-round score.

Once again, Bucknell was soon moving up in the ranks in the third and final day of the classic while posting a 321 Tuesday – coming into the day at 347-329.

At the start of the last day, Bucknell sat 17 shots behind the University of Alabama at Birmingham, but caught the Blazers by two shots to move into twelfth.

Lipscomb won the tournament with a 909 total.

“Competing at the Lady Bison classic was a great way to kick off our season, “McKelvey said. “It was the first time hitting on real grass and competing in a few months, which meant we had some ‘winter rust.’ Each day we improved as a team and had a great time doing it! I’m so excited for the rest of the season and to see what our team can accomplish over the next couple of months.”

All in all, some great totals were seen by the Bison over the course of the classic and there will be more to come as the women travel to Arizona on March 13 and 14 for the Southwest Minnesota State Spring Classic.
