Bison wrestling took on Columbia at home this past Friday Feb. 3, falling 12-25.

The Lions won six out of 10 bouts while picking up bonus points in six of them. Four of the losses against Columbia losses were to nationally-ranked wrestlers, so the Bison faced tough competition.

Dorian Crosby ’23 was able to help the Bison with their first win. He was even with his competitor in the third period when he benefited from a stall call to get the vote 2-1 for his eighth straight win.

The Bison continued with their meet to get to 16-12, narrowing the divide.

Kurt Phipps ’24, Darren Miller ’23 and Dylan Chappell ’25 won their matches 2-1, 2-0 and 7-6 respectively.

The Lions were able to finish strong to take the match with a final score of 12-25.

The Bison also hosted Navy on Saturday afternoon. The match finished with a final score of 9-25 with the Midshipmen claiming the victory.

The Bison won three bouts overall with a win from Crosby, Phipps and Nick Delp ’24. Crosby competed in the 285 with a win of 5-2, Phipps brought home his second win of the weekend for the Bison with a win of 4-0 and Delp brought home his first win of the weekend with a 7-2 finish.

The Bison will host Lehigh this Friday Feb. 10 in Davis Gym.
