Bucknell Men’s Lacrosse traveled to Virginia for their first road game this past weekend to go head to head with the University of Richmond, falling to the Spiders 5-18.

Michael Meyer ’26 opened the scoreboard three minutes into the game. He scored a second goal that put the Bison even with the Spiders early in the second quarter (2-2).

Early in the second half, Richmond outscored Bucknell 10-2 before Richie Striano ’24 hit the back of the net for the Bison.

In the fourth, the Spiders put up a 5-0 run prior to Connor Davis ’25 scoring his eighth goal of the season.

Jaz Zanelli ’26 spent all 60 minutes in goal, finishing with eight saves on Richmond ground.

“Richmond is a well-coached top 20 lacrosse program, and it was great to compete against them,” CJ Baroni ’23 said. “Even though losing is tough, our team learned from this experience and are determined to play Harvard this weekend. Harvard is another top talent and we look forward to another day of great competition.”

Next week, keep your eyes peeled as the Bison play Harvard and Bellarmine.
