Women’s Lacrosse earns a victory on the road

Bison Women’s Lacrosse traveled to Moon Township, Pa. this past weekend as they faced off against Robert Morris University. The Orange and Blue’s early lead proved to be plenty, returning to Lewisburg with a 15-8 victory.

The Bison came out on fire, scoring 10 straight goals in the first half alone. Caroline Sheridan ’26 got the Orange and Blue on the board just over one minute into the match.

RMU tied it less than a minute later, but this wasn’t enough to stop the Bison attack. Emily Baird ’24 initiated the Bison’s lead, on their way to four more goals in the first quarter alone.

The Orange and Blue added five goals in the second quarter while keeping RMU scoreless, entering halftime with a comfortable 11-1 lead.

RMU entered the second half eager to fight back, however, the Bison remained relentless. The Colonials’ early 4-0 run in the third quarter was matched by three late Bison goals, ending the third 14-5.

RMU was able to put away three more goals to the Orange and Blue’s one in the fourth quarter, but this was not enough. The Bison ended the match victorious, with a 38-25 shot advantage.

“The team carried the momentum from our first win against Marist into Saturday’s game against RMU and exhibited an impressive team effort to earn our second win,” Sheridan said. “We stuck to our game plan and executed in all areas of the field. Our ball movement was key, allowing numerous players to make significant contributions.”

The Bison look to keep the momentum building as they near Patriot League play. They are set to face St. Bonaventure at Graham Field at Holmes Stadium on March 4. The match is set for a 4 p.m. start and will be streamed on ESPN+.
