Men’s Lacrosse falls to Harvard away

Brooke Tracey, Senior Writer

The Orange and Blue lacrosse team returned to the field this past weekend in an away match-up against Harvard.

What was set for a two-game extended weekend became just one, as impending weather canceled the Bison’s second match against Bellarmine in Wilton, Conn. This game will not be rescheduled.

The Bison battled hard against the Crimson from the first whistle, however, Harvard took an early lead in the first quarter, 5-1, with four of the goals going unanswered.

The Orange and Blue continued to press, scoring two goals in the second quarter to the Crimson’s four.

The Bison entered halftime down 3-9, but came out of the break fired up. Going on a 5-0 run, the Orange and Blue narrowed Harvard’s lead to just one. This was not enough to get them back in the game however, as the Crimson scored one goal in the third quarter and three more in the fourth, shutting down the Bison attack. The game ended 13-8 in favor of Harvard.

Despite the result, the Bison had four different goal-scorers in Dutch Furlong ’24, Jack Feda ’23, Cam Doolan ’25 and Will Hopkins ’26.

The Bison will return to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium on Saturday, March 4 in a 12 p.m. match against the Marist Red Foxes. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
