Women’s Tennis defeats Lehigh

Bucknell Women’s Tennis traveled to Bethlehem, Pa., to compete against Lehigh. The Bison gave it their all and pulled out a 4-3 victory. 

The matchup between the Bison and Mountain Hawks came down to the wire, but Bucknell won the overall doubles point for the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. 

At No. 1, the tandem of Whitney King ’25 and Abby Platt ’26 defeated their opponents 6-3, while No. 2 Tyne Miller ’24 and Anna Lajos ’25 beat their opponents 6-3. 

Regarding the singles results, Bucknell won three of the six matches.

At No. 4, Platt earned a singles win with the score of 7-5 and 6-1. Additionally, at No. 6, Caroline Marcus ’25 was leading 5-0 in the first set, before winning by default.

To clinch the victory for the Bison, Lajos defeated her competition at No. 2 singles. Lajos pulled out a 6-4 win in the third set. Originally, Lajos lost the first set 6-3, but battled back to a 7-6 (4) win in the second, and completed a comeback in the third set. 

Now Bucknell’s record stands at 2-2 in the Patriot League and 10-11 overall. 

On April 15, the Bison will travel to West Point, N.Y., to take on Army at noon.
