Women’s Rowing finishes at St. Joe’s

Bucknell Women’s Rowing traveled to Leonia, N.J. this past weekend to compete at the Saint Joseph’s Invitational on Overpack Creek. 

Competing against the Atlantic 10, they faced their most significant competition this season. They competed in both the morning and the afternoon and secured a win for the Second Varsity Four and two second-place finishes for the Varsity Four. 

The 1V8+ finished third in its heat with a time of 7:08.499 behind George Washington and Rhode Island. They edged Marist as well. 

Later in the day, they defeated UConn to come in their second, third place finish of the day. 

The 1V8+ lineup included Juliette Gaggini ’24, Hayden Groves ’25, Maddie Wickers ’23, Caroline Brandt ’23, Logan Moore ’26, Alina Kelly ’25, Kona Glenn ’25, Abby Malek ’24 and Haley Beardsley ’24. 

Bucknell’s 2V8+ also came in third twice, beating Marist and UConn as well. 

The 1V4+ defeated George Washington and Marist, placing runner-up to Rhode Island. They competed eight seconds faster in the afternoon.

The 2V4+ bested George Washington by 8.5 seconds and UConn by a significant 44 seconds in their morning face. 

The Lady Bison will head to Worcester, Ma. this Saturday to compete in the Double Dual at Lake Quinsigamond. This is the same place they will be competing in for their Patriot League tournament. They have three more events, two of which will be hosted at home, prior to competing in their conference championships.
