This past weekend, Bison Men’s Soccer hosted George Mason, and finished with a 0-0 draw despite an aggressive and fast-paced game. The teams took five shots and one shot on goal throughout the entirety of the game, and each clearly had a hard time getting past strong defensive lines.
The Bison had a few notable shots from players such Zane Domsohn ’26, Brennan Gac ’24, Kasper Piela ’27 and Jakub Samleko ’27, however none could reach the back of the net. Both goalies each had one save.
Tuesday afternoon, the Bison took the field again as they faced unbeaten Saint Francis. The one and only goal of the game came from an overhead kick from a Saint Francis player in the 72nd minute of the game.
The Orange and the Blue were able to maintain possession for long stretches. David Krumov ’27 and Marco Valentic ’26 both had opportunities to score but were stopped by their opponent’s goalkeeper. Domsohn nearly scored late in the first half but shot wide, as he was tripped from behind.
The Bison fought hard to score in the final minutes of the match. Valentic came up close in the 81st minute as he got around a defender and hit a shot from outside the box that was just tipped by the keeper over the goal. They came up close again in the last minute of the game. Jackson Sullivan ’26 sent a throw into the box that got the Bison a corner kick, but the Red Flash managed to clear the ball out before the Bison could score. The Bison ended on a 0-1 loss.
Despite the loss, the Bison led 8-0 in corner kicks, and Freddie Lapworth ’26 tallied two saves.
The Orange and Blue will start Patriot League play this Saturday as they host Army at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium.
