This past Saturday, Sept. 16, the Bison Men’s Soccer team suffered a disappointing loss at the Patriot League opener against Army on their home field at Holmes Stadium. While the Orange and Blue had an 18-6 shot advantage and a 10-1 disparity in corner kicks, they were unable to secure the win over Army.
Throughout the first half of the game, the Bison kept possession of the ball for long periods of time with a number of great shots on goal. However, within the first 30 seconds of the second half, Army put themselves on the scoreboard with a shot right under the crossbar.
Not long after, in the Bison’s attempt to win possession of the ball and tie the game, Army scored the team’s second goal off of a penalty kick. However, the Bison didn’t give up and fought hard for any chance to bring themselves back into the game.
Finally, in the 77th minute of the game, forward Zane Domsohn ’26 scored off a rebound to make the final score 2-1.
“Although we didn’t get the result we wanted against Army, I believe we are still in great shape,” said Domsohn following the game. “We have struggled to score as a team recently, and finally seeing one go in has given us good confidence moving forward. This team has a chance to be very good going forward.”
The Bison Men’s Soccer team has a current record of 1-4-1. They will be back on the home field Saturday, Sept. 23 against Navy.
