- Vice President for Equity and Inclusive Excellence, Vernese Edghill-Walden ’87, was the only speaker at this session of Congress. As a Bucknell alumnus, she was glad to see the changes to campus over the years; Bucknell inspired her to work in higher education.
- Edghill-Walden plans to create a new division of Equity and Inclusive Excellence made up of the Office of Accessibility Resources, the Griot Institute, Multicultural Student Resources
,and several other groups on campus dedicated to making sure students, faculty and staff have a better sense of belonging at Bucknell. - She looks forward to doing more work with students and hoping for student feedback that her office can then use to compile responses and create definitions surrounding belonging.
- Edghill-Walden will also continue to host dialogues for important issues, both global and campus-centered
- BSG Vice President of Administration, Eliza Morris ’26, continues working on installing an emergency contraception vending machine in the ELC
- A new CFO has been selected for BSG: Charlene Bui ’26, who will be replacing current CFO Gerty Histler ’24
- Congress voted to change the pronouns in their documents from “she/he” to “they”
- Voted to fund yoga mats and other exercise equipment in the senior apartment exercise areas, as well as monitor their purchases to ensure nothing is stolen or removed from the facility without BSG approval
- No Congress next week in observance of Easter
