Editor-in-Chief: Kelsey Werkheiser ’25
Kelsey started writing for “The Bucknellian” her first year, later becoming a Special Features Co-Editor and then a News Co-Editor as a sophomore. She served as Print Managing Editor her junior year and now leads the paper as the Editor-in-Chief. For this semester, they hope to recruit many new amazing writers who will contribute to the vibrant Bucknellian team.
“‘The Bucknellian, as an independent newspaper, is a pinnacle part of protecting free speech on campus and is an opportunity for your voice to be heard,” she shared. “It’s also a great way to start building a portfolio of journalistic writing, and it’s an awesome feeling to get to show your friends and family what you’ve written each week.”
Recognizing the profound impact that “The Bucknellian” has had on her academic experience, Kelsey highlighted how writing for “The Bucknellian” has helped them to find a greater purpose on campus. She continued, “It has helped me to realize that journalism is a possible career path for me, and my involvement is allowing me to gain the necessary journalism experience that isn’t as attainable here through Bucknell’s academics.”
Print Managing Editor: Dora Kreitzer ’25
Ever since the first semester of her first year, Dora has contributed to “The Bucknellian” in a variety of capacities, holding six different editorial positions throughout her four years. She has served as the Print Presentation Director, Print Managing Editor and Digital Managing Editor while studying abroad in London—just to name a few. She served as Editor-in-Chief last year and is now contributing again as the Print Managing Editor.
Dora encourages others to join “The Bucknellian” “because it’s a chance to make your voice heard and to write about things you care about, want others to know about and think are worth reading about. It’s also an opportunity to work with incredible people and community,” which she says has always been one of her favorite parts. This semester, Dora hopes to make “The Bucknellian” “more accessible for both contributors and readers to amplify important issues and allow all who want to to have their work featured.”
News Editor and Investigative News Editor: Lindsay Beier ’27
Coming on for her second semester on the editorial staff, Lindsay is continuing her work in the News section by taking on the role of News Editor and Investigative News Editor for this semester. Last semester, she was an Assistant News Editor.
Lindsay shares the value that “The Bucknellian” has added to her Bucknell experience, noting that she has been able to “connect with more people” and be “more aware of what’s going on around campus” ever since joining.
Opinions Co-Editor: Malika Ali ’26
During her first year, Malika joined “The Bucknellian” as an opinions writer and spent her sophomore year as an Opinions Editor.
“Becoming a part of ‘The Bucknellian’ has been one of the best decisions I’ve made during my college journey. Writing for the paper is more than just putting words on a page—it’s about using the power of your voice and words to make an impact. Most students have no idea that their words have the potential to resonate across campus and even reach our local community through writing for the paper. There’s something so truly special about seeing your thoughts and ideas spark new conversations.”
Opinions Co-Editor: Luke Catalanello ’27
New to the editorial staff this semester, Luke will use the skills he developed as an Opinions writer last year to now be a Co-Editor of the section with Malika.
This semester, Luke hopes to write articles that span a variety of topics, some fun and some more serious. He expressed that for him, “The Bucknellian” is all about experimenting with new ideas through a creative outlet. Reflecting on his time at “The Bucknellian,” he shared, “Every section is awesome!”
Special Features Editor: Hayley Leopold ’26
Hayley has been writing for “The Bucknellian” since her very first semester here as a first year. Before taking on her current role as Special Features Editor, she was a Satire Co-Editor for two semesters and was then the publication’s Print Presentation Director.
“‘The Bucknellian’ is such an incredible group to get involved with!” She continued, “Since I started writing for ‘The Bucknellian,’ I’ve learned so much about different resources on campus, and I love having the opportunity to share these findings with ‘The Bucknellian’ community through my articles.”
Sports Co-Editor: Hugh Straine ’26
Hugh returns to his role of Sports Co-Editor for his second semester. He began as a contributing sports writer in the fall of 2022, working up to the Sports Editor position beginning the spring semester of his sophomore year.
He discussed how he’s involved with many sports-related activities on campus including commentating for the women’s basketball team. He stated, “‘The Bucknellian’ gives me a separate avenue to share my passion for sports by the way of writing, which I love to do.”
Sports Co-Editor: Charlotte Dursee ’25
During the fall of her first year, Charlotte began writing for “The Bucknellian.” She served as Sports Editor last fall, and now that she’s back from being abroad last spring, has re-joined the editorial team as a Sports Co-Editor with Hugh. Charlotte encourages students to start writing for Sports, hoping to help the section gain popularity with readers both on and off campus.
Arts & Culture Co-Editor: Aaron Chin ’25
Prior to his current role as Arts & Culture Co-Editor, Aaron held the position of Satire Co-Editor. He commented, “I hope that through Arts & Culture, we can highlight many of the arts and culture related events on campus and showcase how vibrant our campus can be! I also hope that Arts & Culture can provide a space for people to reflect on themselves and their culture and make them feel seen.” Aaron adds that working as a co-editor for multiple semesters has provided him with valuable teamwork experience that will aid him in future endeavors.
Arts & Culture Co-Editor: Esther Zhao ’27
Beginning her involvement with “The Bucknellian” last year, Esther returns for her second semester as an Arts & Culture Co-Editor. Esther is grateful for all that she’s learned from her editorial role. “I’ve really learned a lot in this position,” she explained, “and it’s helped me become a better communicator and helped my ability to write faster.”

Lauren returns to “The Bucknellian” as a Photography Editor for her third semester. She’s very excited to continue capturing memorable moments on campus!
Graphics Manager: Evelyn Pierce ’25
As a studio art major, Evelyn has been able to utilize her art skills in a practical way by creating graphics for each of our issues. She started drawing for the paper during her sophomore year spring, and she’s been the graphics manager since Fall 2023. Her goal is to get more people joining her to draw graphics.
Web Editor: Michael Taromina ’26
Michael returns to “The Bucknellian” for his third year, previously working as a News Editor and now taking on a new role as a Web Editor. When asked why he thinks others should join and write for “The Bucknellian,” he answered, “Because it’s really fun and the people are really nice!”
